Time flies when you‟re having fun…so I must be, because I can‟t believe I have been working at Beavers for 2 years now, & what’s even better is I still enjoy coming to work everyday. I am married to Chris Smith with 2 teenage daughters, Nicky 18 & Vanessa 16. We have a Labrador named Bolli & 3 cats named Pepper, Slinky & our wee ginger kitten, Ninja. Yes we love animals. I still collect unicorns & that collection just keeps growing. I look forward to chatting when you next call the office. |

Scotty Fletcher |
Growing up on the South East coast of Sydney, nature has always been a big part of my life. Drawing off nature is a huge passion for me, so creating landscaped spaces is what I love to do. I studied turf technology & landscaping straight out of school, I shared this passion with sports before finally landscaping won out. After finishing my studies, I took my trade overseas before ending up in Christchurch 8 years ago. I have also competed in the last two Ellerslie Flower Shows and am preparing for next years show. Last year I won a Bronze for my Exhibition Garden 10×10 Jungle Fever. |
|
I have been working in the landscaping trade since 1994 and hold a National Certificate in Advanced Horticulture. I have lived in NZ since 1993 after moving here from Oz. We live on a small farm in Rangiora. My interests are fishing, golf, 4 x 4 driving & gardening. I’ve won many awards from the Christchurch & Papanui Beautifying Societies. Now that I’m working with the Beaver team, I am finding it to be challenging & rewarding. It’s great working with a team of talented professionals who pride themselves on the work they do. I wouldn’t have it any other way. |

Garry Thompson |
Hi my name is Garry Thompson. I have been working in arboriculture close to eight years, three of them with Beaver Trees & Landscaping. Gardening has always been a hobby of mine and I have been fascinated by plants and how they grow and form their own specific shapes. I have great pride in my work and always feel a sense of achievement at the end of a busy day. I am able to offer advice and guidance through many years of practical experience. |

Chris Latimer |
Hi, I have been working for Beaver Trees & Landscaping now for nearly 4 years. Last year was a really good year for me, as at the start of the year I completed my Arboriculture Apprenticeship. I gained my National Certificate in Horticulture – this was a very proud moment for me. Midway through the year I took 4 months off work to travel through Europe & Ireland. This year I am starting my Diploma in Arboriculture which will take 2 years and a lot of hard work – but it will be worth it. |

Adam Hartshorne Arborist/Team Leader |
Hi there my name is Adam & I’ve been working in the tree business since I left school at the age of 16. I am 20 years old and was born in Scotland. I have been living in New Zealand for 3.5 years & have been employed with Beaver Trees & Landscaping for 2 and half years. It’s a great place to work at Beaver Trees & Landscaping and to live in New Zealand. My hobbies include tree climbing at the weekends (practicing for the climbing competitions) and snow boarding during the winter. I am currently working towards obtaining my apprenticeship. |

Mike Scott |
Hi my name is Mike Scott and I’ve been with Beaver for a year and a half now. I have a background in the pip and stone-fruit industry as well as viticulture. I started doing arboriculture whilst working for a shire council in Australia and have not looked back. I enjoy the hard work that this job offers as it helps to keep me fit. I also like the variety of always working somewhere different every day, and always meeting new people. Its great to be part of such a good team and know that we are all just as dedicated as each other to producing a high standard of work for our valued customers. |

Hi, my name is Alastair and I am 17 years old. I joined Beaver Trees as a groundsman straight from leaving Riccarton High School in March 2010. I have lived in Christchurch all my life & really love living here. I enjoy both watching and playing rugby and of course I am a one eyed Cantabrian. I have a passion for cars and spend a lot of my free time working on my car. I am really enjoying working & learning at Beaver Trees & can see myself having a good career for the future. My aim is to work up through the ranks & become a fully qualified arborist. |

Hi, my name is Sam and I joined Beaver Trees as an arborist at the beginning of June 2010. I moved down from the North Island four years ago and have been working in Christchurch as an arborist ever since. I have 7 to 8 years experience working in the tree industry. At present I am training with HITO and am now only four papers off becoming a fully qualified arborist, which I intend on completing this year. I like to fell trees and undertake dangerous challenging jobs for a thrill. When I am not working, you will find me either fishing, tramping, drinking coffee or snowboarding. |
