We are so proud to let you know that Beaver Tree Service brought the People’s Choice Award home, along with a silver in the Community Contribution category.

An outstanding result with the People’ Choice Award as there was a record 3322 voters with a total of 5000 votes cast for the People’s Choice!

A big thank you to Business Whanganui – Chamber of Commerce for their efforts in bringing the awards together.

And another huge thank you to you, our loyal and wonderful clients who voted us your favourite company!

Chainsaw Giveaway and Gumboot Friday Support

Last month, we ran a special competition to support Gumboot Friday and give back to our Taupo community. Every tree work quote accepted during November not only entered clients into the draw to win a STIHL chainsaw but also supported an amazing cause.

We’re thrilled to announce Sean from Taupo as the lucky winner of the chainsaw! Proceeds from Sean’s tree work were donated by Beaver Tree Service to Gumboot Friday, helping provide free counselling to Kiwi kids in need.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and to Tim at STIHL Taupo for helping make this initiative possible.

Caring for Trees and Their Feathered Friends

While working on a recent job, our arborists discovered a bird’s nest tucked safely within the branches of a tree.

At Beaver Tree Service, we’re committed to protecting wildlife, and our team took extra care to ensure the nest, and its feathered residents, were undisturbed.

If you’re worried about nesting birds on your property, rest assured that our skilled arborists are always mindful and take every precaution to avoid causing harm. Nature is our priority, and we’re here to help you care for your trees while safeguarding the creatures that call them home.

A Crane Job in Acacia Bay: Rising to the Occasion

At Beaver Tree Service, we pride ourselves on handling even the most complex tree removal jobs. A recent project in Acacia Bay demonstrated our expertise, adaptability, and commitment to our clients.

The job was initially quoted for three days, requiring a 55-tonne crane. However, due to a bereavement in the family, the client needed to postpone. Understanding their situation, we sent flowers to express our condolences. Four months later, the client reached out to Beaver to proceed with the work.

When it came time to start, the crane operator discovered the 55-tonne crane couldn’t fit in the driveway. Our team acted swiftly, arranging for a 130-tonne crane from another contractor. Although the larger crane had to be set up further from the site, its increased capacity allowed us to remove larger sections of the tree efficiently.

Thanks to the bigger crane, our skilled team safely dismantled the first tree in just six pieces, finishing by smoko and beginning work on the second tree before lunchtime. The wood was neatly stacked for firewood, and a logging truck collected it the following day.

To thank the client for choosing Beaver Tree Service, one of our team personally delivered dinner vouchers. Additionally, the team restored the fence to its original state after the job was completed.

At Beaver Tree Service, we specialise in challenging tree removals, from large or difficult trees to substantial groups of trees. To learn more about our approach, visit our website:

Supporting Aria on Her Squash Journey

This December, our sponsored athlete Aria is gearing up for an exciting squash season. She recently attended the NZ Junior High Performance Camp in Tauranga, training with top coaches.

Her first major tournament, the NZ Junior Open in Christchurch this March, doubles as a Junior Worlds selection event and runs alongside the NZ Open, featuring stars like Paul Coll and Joelle King.

Having just moved into the Under-19 age group, Aria is determined to make her mark. Despite being one of the younger competitors, her coach has set high expectations, encouraging her to aim for selection to the World Juniors team, set to take place in July 2025.

We are proud to support Aria on her journey and can’t wait to see what she achieves in the year ahead. Best of luck, Aria! Your Beaver Tree Service family is cheering you on every step of the way!

Kelly’s Hockey Highlights

We’re also proud to sponsor Kelly, who’s making great strides in her hockey journey. This year, she played for the Manawatu Women’s National Hockey League Team, finishing an impressive 4th at the national tournament.

Kelly previously represented New Zealand as part of the Junior Blacksticks U21 team. After some time away from the sport, she’s making a strong comeback. She has been selected for the wider Falcons training squad and is now focused on earning her spot in next year’s league.

We’re inspired by Kelly’s determination and can’t wait to see her succeed!

Helping Gardens Thrive, One Mulch Drop at a Time!

A couple of months ago, we had the pleasure of dropping off a truckload of arborist mulch to Catholic Cathedral College for their gardens.

We’re thrilled to hear how it’s been put to good use! The school has done a fantastic job planting a variety of plants, and we’re thrilled to have been able to assist.

If you’d like mulch for your own garden, give us a call! We have a mulch list where you can register your details for mulch drop-offs when available, or you can purchase mulch directly from us in some regions.
